Love Yourself: Lemon Sugar Scrub

This post contains affliate links.

Welcome to Friday all!

I’m sure a lot of you spent a lot of the week outside. Maybe in pools, maybe just soaking up the sun. Either way I’m sure your skin is feeling thirsty! It can do a number on your skin being outside a lot especially if you’re in the pool or ocean. Also during summer us girls shave our legs a whole lot more. This too can easily dry out and rough up your skin.

Worry not I’m here to help! It’s never a bad time to pamper yourself!

I’ve definitely been feeling that way lately. Like I need to stop ad focus on me for a few. Well sugar scrubs are one of my favorite pamper myself things. Even though it really is something quick and simple that I just add to my shower routine, but it really feels amazing.

Lemon sugar is my favorite!

Citrus is so invigorating the smell is so refreshing and uplifting. This always helps me feel better. And I know that I’m doing something that is for me and that helps too.

There are many other benefits of using a sugar scrub.

Not only does it smell and feel great, but using a sugar scrub can increase circulation. I tend to have not so great circulation in my legs, so any extra help is always good. Using sugar scrub an amazing exfoliator. Using a scrub after you shave ensures that your pores are cleaned out. This prevents those red bumps that no one likes. Lemon oil also is an antifungal which means it can help with dandruff. It may seem weird to use a sugar scrub on your scalp but it can help to refresh your scalp, reduce dandruff, and increase circulation for improved hair growth.

I wouldn’t recommend using the scrub on your scalp more than once a week as the abrasiveness may become too much for your hair.

As for your body I would recommend using the scrub a few times a week, at most every other day. You don’t want to over exfoliate your skin.

Alright let’s make some scrub!

I like to make scrub in small batches. This will help to make sure that the oil is distributed throughout the jar and doesn’t dry out. Also I like to change up the scrubs I used and making small batches means I will actually use up the one I have before making a new one.

I use a small wide mouth mason jars. The ones I have right now hold a cup of sugar perfectly. I also highly recommend getting some plastic screw on lids, because traditional mason jar lids are just no fun when you’re trying to use your scrub in the shower.

For the scrub I use:
-1 cup Sugar
-2 tbsp Almond Oil
-1-2 tbsp Melted Coconut oil
-1 Tsp Lemon Oil

I highly recommend mixing it in a bigger bowl then putting it into the jar. Especially if you tend to be messy like I do. Then you’re good to go! Super easy right? Have you guys made your own scrub before? What’s your favorite scent, or would you like to see more? Please let me know in the comments below! And don’t forget to follow! I hope you all have a great weekend and don’t forget to Live Crazed.

Organization: Cleaning Schedual

Happy Friday all!!

Today I want to talk to you about cleaning. I know, I know not a topic we really get excited about, but we all know it’s something that must be done.

I don’t know if anyone else has this problem, but I seem to not do anything for a couple days then I hate my house. Then I try to clean everything in one day. This always get super frustrating because with two little guys i really don’t have all day to clean. I knew there must be a better way.

I came up with a cleaning schedule. This way i could have everything planned out instead of just swinging blindly at an ever growing problem. By having it scheduled out I don’t have to think about what i want to get done that day I just have to check what’s listed.

Also this way if i get sick for a few days and get behind if I just stick to my schedule everything will get done. Yes the house might be a little messy for a couple days, but it will all get done. If you keep to the schedule you will be amazed at how clean your house is with only maybe an hour of work a day. For those who aren’t at home all day this will take less time because you wont have as many dishes and kid messes to keep up with.

Just like any habit it does take some time to get into.

Do your best not to get discouraged!! It is possible to have a clean house with minimal effort. Of course my exact schedule may not work for everyone you may need to make your own adjustments. I am very hopeful that i can at lease inspire you and set you on the path to an easier week.

Let’s get this show on the road!!

The way that I break down my schedule is to have morning and evening tasks, then daily tasks, and a couple monthly tasks.

Morning Tasks:

  • Empty Dishwasher
  • Clean Counters
  • Make Beds
  • Tidy Bedrooms
  • Load of Laundry

For the morning tasks, I like to try and empty the dishwasher and clean the counters before my boys wake up. Making the beds and tidying the bedrooms is something that I have been trying to get the boys to do when they wake up. Usually it’s nothing more than maybe a few pieces of clothes, a book or two and maybe a couple toys. So it really should only take a couple minutes. It really makes a big difference to me to have clean bedrooms. Also this is the time that I gather up the laundry. Currently I only do laundry Mondays and fridays, with an occasional wednesday load.

Evening Tasks:

  • Fold/ Put away the laundry
  • Tidy Living Room
  • Vacuum
  • Loose Dishes
  • Run Dishwasher

For evening tasks, we try to have the living room tidied and vacuumed before dinner. This way after dinner they can play games with Daddy while i clean up from dinner and do the loose dishes. Folding the laundry is not something I”m great it keeping up with. Something new I’m trying is folding the laundry while my boys are watching their nightly movie, or at quiet time. This way I can put the laundry away when we go up for bed. The boys get a minute to be crazy before we settle down for be and I don’t leave laundry baskets everywhere.

Daily Tasks:

  • Monday

                -Wash sheets and blankets

                 -Clean Couches

                 -Night- Empty Bathroom Garbages

  • Tuesday

               -Sweep/ Swiffer

               -Vacuum bedrooms

  • Wednesday

                -Dust/ Disinfect

                -Windows

  • Thursday

               -Declutter

               -Tidy Outside

               -Sweep/ Swiffer

  • Friday

              -Clean Bathrooms

              -Wash towels

               -Dusts/ Disinfect

  • Saturday

              – Free day!!!

  • Sunday:

               -Sweep

              -Mop

              -Monthly Task

Monthly tasks**:

  1. Wash Walls
  2. Clean out fridge and Microwave
  3. Clean/ Tidy Hall closets
  4. Clean Game room

**For the Monthly Tasks I do one a week.

Organization: My Planner

This Post contains Affiliate links.

Hey all to another fine Wednesday!!

I am excited to share something with you guys today. I am super into being organized and though I haven’t always kept up with I’m very glad I’ve been doing more with it lately. It started with binders so I could work out all the details.

This worked great for a while, but then I start to slip.

It was becoming a hassle to have several different binders all with different information. Having to look through several binders to find the things I need for the week. That is when I started looking for a planner. I needed a place to keep all my nicely organized information in an easily accessible place.

So the hunt began.

It was super hard to decide on one. There was so many different styles and sizes out there. I couldn’t decide how big of a planner I needed. I didn’t want too much space, but I was also afraid to have too little. Honestly it took me probably almost two weeks to decide. I kept going back and forth between a larger one and the one I picked.

I really put a lot of pressure on myself to pick the right one. I tend to think that a lot of decisions are going to make or break my efforts. This may seem silly to some, but its very real for me. I really feel like it’s the tools you use that really decide whether or not the job gets done.

Then I found it!!

I love the layout, its not very big but its not tiny either. To check it out you can find it Here. It’s been working out really well. Though next time I may go for the bigger planner. I sometimes run out of room, for everything I want to put in there. I like to plan out my day a bit. This way if I follow it I have some tiny victories to celebrate throughout the day.

Also in my planner I have my upcoming blog posts for the days I want to post them. I add the bills we have on the days they are to be paid. I put in the dinners we have planned in for each day as well. These are all the things that I add to my planner before the beginning of the month. I don’t like to start the month not knowing what’s going on. With two small boys and trying to get my blog off the ground, I don’t have the time to go blindly into the weeks ahead.
I am a HUGE fan of stamps and stickers, they are a really easy way to add some color and textures to the weekly view. I also love adding motivational quotes through out my planner including my Logo! Woot! One of my favorite parts of setting up my planner is looking for new motivation. It really gets me excited for the upcoming month.

Check out these fun Stamps and Stickers!

-Essential Planner Stamps

-Awesome Stickers!

Not everything goes according to plan.

Which really is fine, I more am interested in having some sort of plan in place. This way I at least have something to follow along with on days that I am struggling. Also with dinners planned we’ve been able to cut back on our grocery bill. It’s also been nice to sit down with my husband and figure out our month.
I also plan things to do for myself. This way I know what to expect and I know when I need to make time for myself, otherwise I just get kind of caught up in life. Taking the time of myself is very important. I spend so much time taking care of everyone else and keeping the house together I forget to spend time on myself. When I do I always feel better and more like I’m a present and important part of my life.

And there it is! The glue that holds my months and days together. Without my planner I’d be lost. Do any of you guys keep a planner? What do you think is essential for your planning needs? Please let me know and follow so you can keep up to date. And don’t forget to always Live Crazed!

DIY: Positive Mindset

Good Morning Happy Friday all!

Especially those that actually feel a difference on the weekend! I like Fridays because I know it means that I don’t have to make dinner. HAHA! Sad but true. Its all about enjoying the little things right?
Anyway Moving on todays DIY, as I’m sure you figured out from the title, is about having a positive mindset. Most people it seems don’t just automatically have a positive mindset, Its something they have to work on. This goes for me in a big way. It’s definitely something I’ve had to fight for. I’m very happy to say though that since working on it I have mostly good days with only a few bad days. Also those bad days only last one day!!
I would like to start by saying this does take time and you have to REALLY want it. This isn’t something you can half do. You’re either in or not. If you’re not it’s not going to work. And the only person you can blame is yourself. Most peoples problem is the fact that they are standing in their own way. If you can accept that and move on then you can do anything!!2018-06-22_14.05.58

Let’s move forward!

I would like to talk about why I think it’s important to want a positive mindset or why not to have a negitive mindset. Having a negative attitude is like a black hole. Once you give in it all spirals. And I know from experience the hole can get pretty deep and take a lot of time to get out of. It definitely seemed like once I started thinking negatively every bad thing I didn’t like about myself or my life would come to the front of my brain. Those thoughts would consume me. And make more thoughts just like those.
My brain would come up with every detailed reason why I would never be able to accomplish anything. So why bother trying?
Well because this is my life! There’s no reason why we can’t have big dreams, and actually try to do something with them. Having a dream is great! But being positive or negative is what will decide if you act on it or regret not trying.
So how can we be positive?
I don’t know about you guys but I am super visual. If I’m trying to get into a new habit then I need visual reminders everywhere. I have motivational quotes hanging in my room, I have them all throughout my planner. One of my favorite parts of setting up my planner for the month is picking out motivational quotes to stick in my planner. It just really gets me pumped for the days ahead. It usually adds some nice color too!IMG_20180621_220858831_LL

The next important thing I want to touch on is to not forget yourself. It’s too easy to let yourself get lost in the craziness that is life. We all have responsibilities; people to look after, houses to maintain, goals to crush. For some reason thinking about all these things tends to make us forget our biggest responsibility, taking care of ourselves. When we forget to take care of ourselves and put ourselves first from time to time, life doesn’t really seem worth it.
Am I the only person who feels this way?
I’m not trying to say that you need to devote days or weeks to yourself, and forget everything else. Making sure that sometimes you are putting yourself first will definetely help you get more of your time, and be a big boost towards staying positive.
I know I know… you don’t have time for yourself right? How long do you sit there and think about all the things you would like to do? Uhhuhh. That’s precious time wasted right there.
Just do it! You have to cut the grass? Put a hair mask on before you head out. (I did that yesterday) Or before you start your daily chores. Doing things for yourself doesn’t have to interfere with your day to day life. There’s no reason why you can’t have a hair mask in or face mask on while you are doing things. Not only will you be doing something for yourself, but you will most likely get more benefits from what you do because you will probably have it on for more time than you normally would, if you were just putting it on and waiting.
It also could be as simple as playing your favorite music while cleaning or folding the laundry. That always gives me a boost if I feel I’m starting to slip to the negative place. That and coffee. Oh Coffee how you make my world go round.
Yes there should absolutely be some time that you fully carve out for yourself. Things like doing your nails or shaping your eyebrows, can’t really be multi-tasked. Well other than doing those while binge watching Netflix.
When you have kids its true that most of that has to try and be accomplished after they go to bed. So the goal of that should be for one day a week that either your significant other puts them to bed. Or you have an earlier bed time one night a week. It can be done! I have another post that goes into more detail about taking time for yourself. You can check out here.
I also feel like centering yourself both in the morning and at night is extremely helpful. I almost want to call it meditating but I don’t usually give it that much time. Usually just like 5 minutes. In the morning if I don’t wake up before my boys then I usually do this while I’m waiting for my hot water to boil for my coffee. I pretty much just prepare my mind for the day. I tell myself things like: “I will take a step back, I wont just react,” and “today will be a good day, there might be rough parts, but they wont last,” “I can do this, I may not get everything done on my list and that’s ok.” Maybe this seems silly but its important to me to remember my goals for the day. I usually end up repeating these throughout the day as well.

At night its right before I lay down to go to bed. I make sure my alarm is set and I put my phone down out of sight. Then I just think about the day, what I wish I could change, what I did well with, forgiving myself for what went wrong or didn’t get done. It’s my way of ending the day, and letting it go, so that I can start the next with a fresh mind and a clear head. This usually helps me get to sleep easier. It doesn’t always work, usually because I pick my phone back up, but mostly it helps.
There we have it! Keeping a positive mindset! What do you do to stay positive? Do you have troubles getting sucked into the negative black hole? I’d love to hear your thoughts! Please follow to stay up to date on all the Crazy! Going to work on a new recipe over the weekend! As always Live Crazed!

Keto: On the Journey

Good morning all!

So I wasn’t planning on sharing any transformation related things until I reached my goal weight. However I have decided that the journey is very important. And that for those who are thinking about going a weight loss/ keto path as well should get an idea as to what to expect. Or if you are currently struggling while on your journey.

True that not everyone will have the same experience but you’re never alone. There is probably someone out there that has gone through the struggles or fears you face. I have definitely been through many ups and downs. I know I still don’t have it all figured out, but no body does.

I’m going to give you some back story. All through middle/ high school I struggled with weight. My mom is a phenomenal cook and I am an emotional eater. Not a good combo. Still there’s no ones cooking I love as much as my moms. After high school I went to collage and walked a whole lot. My school was a mile away and I didn’t have a car. This definitely helped but I still never got to where I thought I should be. I was around 150-155 lbs and nothing seemed to help.

While I was at collage I met my husband. We were together for almost five years before getting married. (We got married 5-5-13, just to give you a little bit of a timeline.) Funny story a month after announcing to my family that we had set a wedding date, we had to change it. I was pregnant and my due date was 3 days before our planned wedding date.

Good times… So I ended up being 5 months pregnant when we got married. Not something I would recommend it was very uncomfortable. The wedding photos of me are not my favorite either. Hindsight is generally 20/20, but life moves on. I was up to 190 lbs before I gave birth to my first amazing little man.

During the first year after he was born I was able to lose a bunch of weight and get down to the lowest weight I can remember 147. Well Unfortunately that didn’t last long, as I become pregnant again. And once again I got up to 190 lbs before I gave birth to my second amazing little man.

2018-06-06_14.01.10

This time however the weight wouldn’t come off.

I exercised I tried changing my birth control, I thought I was eating healthy. All while chasing after two little boys. No matter what I did my weight stayed in the 167 to 175 range. For two years I struggled with this. Until one day while I was at the doctor I saw someone, who was different than who I normally saw. This Doctor told me about his lifestyle choice; Keto. At first I was skeptical. I had already considered myself low carb, and with a pretty healthy lifestyle.

What could be so different about keto?

That’s when he explained to me the difference between a sugar burner and a fat burner. That was enough for me to look into it and give it a try. The thought of burning fat (yes please), not getting hangry all the time, and having a clear alert mind, what could be bad? I’d say the bad is fighting my emotional eating habits. It has been a lot easier since being a bit into my keto journey, but I still have bad days.

There are also days where I feel overwhelmed and whatever the kids are eating looks so tasty. I’m fairly ashamed to admit how much I’ve actually given in to those fleeting thoughts the last week or so. It wasn’t until a few days ago that I realized how bad I had gotten.

For the entire first month and a half to two months of keto I did great I nailed my macros more days than not, I for a stevia I liked and got away from sugar. Thought I was in the clear. However once I stopped tracking my macros and holding myself accountable, a French toast stick here couldn’t be bad, and a handful of Chex mix there, what’s the harm? Chocolate chips, overeating peanut butter, having a few pretzels.

All these little things I’d tell myself would be no harm done, were actually causing harm.

I noticed I was feeling a bit hangry more often, my face started to break out and I couldn’t get through the afternoon without a snack. My stomach hurt and I often was feeling sick. These were the signs of my body telling me what I was doing was not good for me.

So I came up with a plan.

I would come clean on my sneaky grazing habits and move forward. Its been a rough couple days feel like I’m detoxing all over again, but I know I’ll be better for it. Though I do have to remind myself “I will not cheat today” over and over, it’ll be worth it. I know that being keto is what I want and I will not left myself be the only thing standing in my way of a better me. In the two and a half months I’ve been Keto I have lost about 18 lbs. After two years of struggling and trying and being told I must not be trying hard enough, I finally saw results. I am currently about 152lbs.

2018-06-06_13.27.21

It was a pretty intense experience for me. I feel like I have a new look on life. For a long time all I could think about was having the perfect body and getting my weight down. Now I just want to feel better, more fit, more in control. I still have a goal weight; of 140lbs but its not hanging over my head anymore. It truly is freeing when you like go of a specific you that you want and just focus on being a better you than you are today.

There’s my summed up journey so far, still have a ways to go but I am actually looking forward to it. Has anyone else struggled with the nibble problem? How did you overcome it? I’d love to hear from you with your thoughts/ struggles. I also hope that you will follow my blog and stay up to date on the crazy show that is my life. Thanks all! Don’t forget Live Crazed!!

Crazy Organized

Well here we are its Friday!

Not that that means too much for me, so much fun being a housewife. I am excited to have my husband home so we can get our back yard up and running for this beautiful weather. Speaking of getting things up and running, I’ve been trying to get my command center up and running. I haven’t gotten it 100% the way that I want it yet but at least it’s getting there. And today I will be giving a walk through of what I have now and how I hope to change it.

I suppose the best place to start is by saying I’m not sure it qualifies as a command “center” as I have several things here and there and its not in one place. Though I do hope to change that in the near future. The main bulk is in the kitchen, as I consider this to be the main hub of the household.

Most likely once I do bring it all together it will end up in the dining room because it has the best space for it. Also that’s already where I have my printer and that’s tough to move. Next to the printer I keep my other office type stuff; stapler, 3 hole punch, paper that kind of stuff. Unfortunately with the table I’m currently using I don’t have enough room for my binders, or any additional fun stuff.

Oh yes I use binders and I love them. I have tried doing a bullet journal where everything is together in one self made book, and I did like it but it was too hard for me to keep up with. Also I tend to be a bit OCD and I really like to make templates, where the lines are always straight and I can make everything even. It also makes me really happy that I can just print it out and be ready to go. Then I can still stay organized but it doesn’t take me hours every week to get set up. IMG_20180511_102704449

Moving on, I have 3 binders. I have one for meal planning, one for financial stuff, and a binder to keep my blog organized. I don’t have them all exactly right yet but I’m closer than I’ve ever been its just making small tweaks and finding ways too improve.

For example; in my meal planning binder I want to have try keeping an inventory, though I may hang that right in the cupboard. I am hoping this will help to get our grocery budget under control. Lately its gotten a little crazy, but I am very optimistic that with meal planning and paying attention to what we buy vs what we use we can wrangle it in. My husband is our only income and an army salary is really not much for a family of four so having a solid grocery budget is very important to making paychecks last.

The financial binder has our complete budget, all our bills, extra expenses like gas, and pizza. We don’t really eat out other than ordering pizza on Fridays. Then our (in progress) grocery budget. Also in this binder is a statement for each bill we have. This way if we wonder what were paying its easy to look up. This way we are avoiding surprises and when we need to talk about finances its already together and easy to look at. As of now the budget is completely hand written which isn’t a bad thing but I do hope to make a template for it soon so it will look extra organized and together. I do so love neat and tidy charts.

My blog binder is definitely a work in progress. But its purpose is to keep my ideas organized so I don’t go wild. I need to have a plan otherwise I usually tend to try and do too much. So I planned out what I will be blogging about which days for the whole month. Then I have a worksheet for the current week with a bit more detail. I also have a worksheet for each post to work out ideas and which pictures I should aim to have, also a checklist to make sure all bases are covered. I also have a little notebook I’ve been carrying with me all over, where I can jot down ideas on the fly.IMG_20180511_102709630 IMG_20180511_102724500

Hanging in my kitchen I have: a calendar of appointments, a weekly menu for my family, and a cleaning schedule. The schedule really helps me a lot. I have it broken down to morning and afternoon tasks, also a daily task then monthly tasks. Otherwise I tend to try and do everything all the same day and get burnt out then I don’t do anything the next day. I’m trying to get more evened out so I have a good routine, that not only keeps my house clean but also leaves me time for other things.

Right now it is handwritten and a little messy for my liking so hopefully I will find some time to redo it and pretty it up. As for the tasks it runs quite smoothly when I do follow it. In the last few weeks I have gotten much better, but I don’t pretend to be perfect and I do need to buckle down on getting into the routine. That goes for all my routines, they all need to come together. I don’t think it will be completely perfect because of life, but the closer I get I’m sure the happier I will be. When my house is a mess I’m miserable, and I don’t want to do anything. Not ideal with two crazy, demanding kids.IMG_20180511_102546000.jpg

I also keep a fitness journal. This journal is much like a chunk out of my old bullet journal. I track my daily workouts, my measurements and progress photos which I take monthly, also I try to track my Keto macros, calories burned/ intake. I know that the calories are not 100% accurate but I like to see it all the same.  I track my ketone levels, useing ketostix, they help me to know if I’m in ketosis. Unfortunately they aren’t known for being super accurate if you are in ketosis but its good enough for me. I also have a space for a daily log, for thoughts about my fitness/ eating habits and whatnot.

Now my most important piece. I have a wonderful planner that I use to tie it all together. Because looking through all these binders for info is not very efficient. I do find the binders to be very helpful to work everything out and get it organized then the finished products go into my planner.IMG_20180612_230038835.jpg

My planner is new and it has completely changed my organization game. I also use it to schedule things to do for myself like doing my nails or hair masks. Otherwise I tend to ignore myself. If I have it scheduled I’m definitely more likely to do it. I also have a lot of fun adding stickers and motivational quotes.

Well there is all is many pieces of a household puzzle, that help me to at least pretend to be sane, and help me get through each day. I definitely have work to do and I’m kind of excited to put it together and make a amazing looking official command center. I’m happy with my progress so far even if its not completely fine tuned. It’s quite hard to control the crazy. So I’m figuring out how to live with it.

How do you keep organized? Would you like a deeper look into my organization? Please let me know what you think, and Click Follow, as this crazy band marches on. Happy Friday all! See you Monday for more Keto!

Keto: What it is and Why it’s for me

Hey all!

I am quite excited for this post. Today I will be telling you all about the Ketogenic diet what it is,  why I started, how long I’ve been into it and why it is perfect for me. Although I would really like to start by saying I’m not a huge fan of the word diet. That word has almost become a red flag.no-dieting_l

Oh no this person is on a diet, I wonder how long that lasts. It makes it seem like a fad, a temporary solution, but this is more of a lifestyle. Yes some people use it as a quick solution for fast weight loss but funny story once you stop you gain it back. In many cases though not everyone does. Lifestyle not temporary solution. Alright rant over moving on.

What is the Ketogenic diet (lifestyle)?

Well I think the best way to describe it is as a macro based diet. Macros or macronutrients: Fat, Carbohydrates and Protein. With the keto diet you are focused on your macros, and keeping them in the ideal range to put your body into ketosis. Ketosis is when instead of using glucose for energy your liver is breaking down fat cells into fatty acids and ketones, which the body can then use for energy.

This is very efficient because the ketones do not effect the blood glucose level so insulin, the hormone that not only regulates blood sugar levels but can also tell the body to store fat, levels are kept low. When blood glucose and insulin levels are kept low there isn’t a rolling hunger that you go through. If you eat something high in carbs or processed sugars it spikes your blood glucose so insulin comes in and get rid of the access glucose, then you feel hungry (or hAngry) all over again. With ketones you stay more level.

What could be better then that?

Consistent energy and burning fat stores, yes please! The generic ideal macro levels are roughly 70% Fat, 25% protein and 5% Carbs. If you are aiming for weight/fat loss you generally want to stay at or below 20 grams of carbs of day. This is a very good way to keep blood glucose low and to encourage your body to be in ketosis. When you aim to maintain the amounts are slightly different. There are many calculators out there to find the ideal macro percentages for individuals.keto pyramid

Why I started

I had been trying to lose weight for two years, or after I gave birth to my second son. Nothing seemed to work, I ate “healthy”, I cut calories, I exercised I kept in motion. But unfortunately I remained at the same weight. On a trip to see my doctor I talked to him about my troubles and how discouraged and upset I was about them. He suggested Keto. It’s the lifestyle he chooses so he was very passionate about it.

At first I was unsure. How could so much fat be ok? How can making these small changes make such a big difference? So of course I went home and I did some research, I saw many keto success stories and before and after photos so I thought why not? I’ve tried many other things maybe this will work. I then did some more research made some lists, decided on a rough meal plan and found an app to track my macros. For the first week or so it was a bit hard I couldn’t seem to get enough fat in and I was always going over calories and eating too much protein. So more research.2018-05-07_09.59.24

I found Keto coffee, or bulletproof coffee or butter coffee whatever you want to call it. Now my morning coffee just about solved my low fat problem, and made my mornings better. Also I started actually using my kitchen scale and weighing my portions. I’m still learning and still trying different things but its gotten a lot easier. I’ve also decided that I will remain keto it’s not a temporary solution but MY chosen lifestyle.

I’ve been Keto for over a month now and it’s the best I’ve felt in a long time. My head feels clear, my hunger is under control. I don’t feel randomly hungry which has been great because then I’m not snacking here and there. This has helped bring my calorie count down a lot.

True I do have to still pay close attention to what I eat and make adjustments here and there. I still have many things to try and ways to find to improve or have foods that I want in a way that doesn’t throw off my body. It’s quite exciting for me to think about. I’m still early on in my journey to a better me, but the important parts is that I’m on the journey.

When I started I was 170 pounds, as of my last weigh in I am 156. I still have 16 pounds to go to reach my goal but it really has become much more than the number. I have a lot of shaping and work to do but I am excited to finally be moving forward.

After two years I am finally seeing results from my efforts. So far I am all about keto. I am bonkers for the coffee, I like it several different ways. I really like the foods I’ve been eating. To be honest some of the things are things that I should not eat as much of and I’m slowly working on replacing things. Sausage for instance. It is super tasty and easy but it has too much fat and is too processed there are many better options.

Also sometimes cheese is just too tasty. I’ve cut back on that quite a bit though. There are many things that would make Keto seem like it would be hard to maintain, such as the counting carbs and no processed sugars. Really thought, once you get rolling you don’t really miss those things.

Which being out the other side is pretty great. I don’t feel like I want to eat pizza and bread by the loaf or anything like that. I don’t constantly feel like I want sweets. Its wonderful when someone offers you something and you can genuinely say no, without feeling like you’re punishing yourself.

All of this together is why keto is perfect for me I love the food and how I feel and of course the progress I’ve been seeing. Nothing makes people happier than getting results for their efforts. Yes many of us want instant results, but unfortunately that’s not how most of life works especially when trying to lose weight and change your body or lifestyle. But there is something that will work for everybody and its true that Keto is not the end all be all for everyone, nor am I trying to say it is. All I know is that it works for me, and it’s something that I am excited for and passionate about.

I would love to know your thoughts! Have you tried keto? Have you heard about it but have questions? If you have tried Keto I’d love to know your favorite recipe or dish. Also I hope that you will click follow and keep up to date on all things crazy.
